In the latest soccer news, superstar Cristiano Ronaldo signs with Al Nassr of Saudi Arabia. Ronaldo has signed a 200-million-Euro deal that will have him play for Al Nassr up to June of 2025. He will be playing outside a European league for the first time in his career.
For those unaware of Al Nassr, they have won 9 Saudi Arabian titles, the last of which was back in 2019. And for those using a bookie pay per head software, this is a great opportunity to promote the regions betting options to a more international clientele since Ronaldo will be playing there.
This will also hopefully be a better stint for Ronaldo, who comes from a bad split with Manchester United, as well as being benched by Portugal in the World Cup.
Cristiano Ronaldo and Al Nassr
As a refresher to those who read news at Gambling Interaction, last year, Ronaldo gave a highly explosive interview with Piers Morgan. There, the star said that he felt betrayed by the club, and that he had no respect for Erik ten Had, coach of Manchester United. While Ronaldo was in the World Cup, United announced that they were severing ties with the Portuguese player.
Ronaldo is one of the highest paid athletes in soccer. He earned 31 million Euros in Juventus. He then took a pay cut to join united again, where his basic salary ranged from 15-28 million Euros before bonuses. What he will be earning in Al Nassr will far surpass any salary he has received playing in Europe. It will also help bring more international attention to sports in the region, something that Saudi Arabia has been doing with racing, boxing, golf, and now, soccer.
